2 CORPORATE EVENTS THAT SHOULD GO VIRTUAL IN THE DIGITAL AGE

The year 2020 was undoubtedly a gamechanger for everyone leading the 80% of the businesses, events, meetings to go digital. Since then, Apple, Tomorrowland – The Digital Festival, etc, were one of the big events that were virtually organised and became an instant talk of the town. Big companies have been organising the corporate events virtually and slowly the corporate world is coming to terms; believing that – ‘Virtual is here to stay. Virtual is the future’

What is a Corporate Event?

A Corporate Event is a social activity organised by a business firm/company for the employees. It’s a social gathering which is meant to boost employee morale thereby making them feel special and inspire them at the same time to give their best at work.
Corporate events play an important role in employee building strategy which helps in promoting creativity, strengthen teams i.e team building, etc.
The general corporate events organised are – Conferences, Seminars, Expos / Trade Shows, Charity, Workshops, etc.

Advantages of Virtual Corporate Events

  • Saves Time
Since Attendees don’t have to travel to a particular place, much enough time for the attendees is saved and thus one can attend the virtual event in the comforts of one’s home or anywhere.

  • Beneficial for sponsor
Even if there are no hoardings or standees in the event, an exhibitor or sponsors can interact with the attendees and showcase their offerings or services.

  • Easy event planning
Since the process of event planning is done digitally, much of the event planner’s time is saved and no commotion is caused as no physical registration is required to enter the virtual event.

  • Cost-effective
Renting a venue along with the travel and accommodation costs a good amount for the organisation. Thus, moving to the virtual platform is much a better and efficient option.

“According to the Event Outlook Report, 92% of the event marketers plan to incorporate virtual events into their event strategy after COVID-19.”

So as to avoid mass gathering and for the benefit of the organisation, below are the 2 Corporate Events that we suggest should go virtual in 2021 –

  1. Business Conference

With multiple speakers onboard and depending on the sessions, a business conference could last for a day or function for a 3-4 days. So, in such a case, a good amount of revenue can be generated out of sponsorship thereby profiting the company or organisation if the event is organised virtually with no excess expenditure.
SBC Digital Summit was the first to organise one of the biggest virtual conferences with 10,000+ attendees in 2020.

  2. Product Launch Events

Launch events are one of the most important product marketing events for any business. It evokes a lot of excitement and attracts a mass number of people to attend the event. So, organising the event virtually would be beneficial for the organisation.
Tech giant Apple took the boldest step when it took to virtual for the launch of their much-anticipated products during the WDCC 2020 and most of its competitors too opted for Virtual event, to launch their products.
